Pedals for Your Catrike
Your single most important safety and comfort decision on your new Catrike is your pedal choice. The Welgo clip in pedal that comes stock on every Catrike’s is fantastic, but it’s not for everyone.

Power Grip Pedal
Power Grip Pedals are very secure. You can wear your favorite pair of shoes. You insert your foot at an angle, and when you straighten, the straps pull taut. To exit, you just turn your feet slight and the straps go slack. It’s really simple
Wellgo Pedal
Wellgo Clip Pedals come stock on every Catrike and they’re the most secure way to ensure your feet stay on the pedals. Wellgos have a matching cleat -included with your purchase of a Catrike- that attaches to a standard biking shoe that you can get from many bike shops or outdoor shops like REI
Platform Pedal
Platform Pedals are what Mel rides on. “For many riders, biking shoes work just fine. But, being clipped in gives me foot cramps. So, I ride on Platforms because they offer a third more surface area than the stock Wellgo pedals and they’re spiked with studs that keep my foot firmly on the pedal.”
Magnetic Pedal
Magnetic Pedals have a super-powerful rare earth magnets that do an excellent job holding your feet to the pedals. Like the stock Wellgo Clip pedals that come with your purchase, they require those biking shoes we already described -the ones you can get from a bike or outdoor store. But, instead of the Wellgo cleat, we install a flat steel plate that serves as the attachment point.
Quick Release Pedal
The Quick release pop right off. That’s going to frustrate the thief who’s just sawn through your lock. They’re spiked with studs -similar to the platform pedal- to help maintain a solid foot connection. But, they’re about twenty percent smaller than the Wellgos in both length and width -an important consideration if you’re prone to hot foot or cramps.
Folding Pedal
The Folding Pedals come from the folding bike world. They’re slightly narrower and shorter than the stock Wellgos. Folded, they help your trike fit into tight spaces.
Heel Support Pedal
Heel Support are our most popular optional pedal. They’re super-easy to operate -you drop your feet on them and the heel cup ensures your feet stay securely on the pedal. They come with both ankle and toe straps, though the vast majority of our customers find that the heel cup alone -no ankle or toe straps- is more than sufficient to ensure their feet remain secure on the pedals.
Large Platform Pedal
Large Platform are really large. Nearly 40% larger than our already pretty large Platform Pedals. Bigger is NOT necessarily better. These may be perfect for that six foot six former University of Nebraska linebacker. Or, if you have physical limitations that fix your feet at an angle -these might be perfect for you -maybe even in conjunction with our standard or large pedal extenders.
