Nancy Monee is a bike rider and triathlete who successfully battled Leukemia, but now lives with treatment-induced osteoporosis. She has had five back surgeries and a total hip replacement in the last two years -making upright riding far too risky. Nancy and her husband Rich came to RecumbentPDX seeking a safe alternative to get her back out on the road and resume riding as a couple – something they temporarily had to give up. She chose an Eon Green Catrike Trail.
Nancy continues a difficult recovery. But with her goals in sight –and with grit and determination- the recumbent trike is one more tool in the toolbox. Nancy provided the following report at the end of 2015:
“I am so deconditioned presently and still deal with pain in multiple joints. Before December I had been riding about the neighborhood and down to the trail several times with help from my husband as I can’t load and unload the trike. My 2016 goal is to ride up to 20 miles. The spring water corridor is close to our home and is beautiful to ride on.”
